"The Daysong of The Knightbird"

I got word yesterday that PublishAmerica has decided to publish book two of The Knightbird series. We might have a problem receiving the contracts because I don't have a mailbox right now. Long Story....

The hurting kind...

I got into deep thought this morning over this topic. You know I wish we lived in a perfect world where nobody hurt anyone else but you know pain has a purpose. If all things were good and great in our lives then they would not be good and great, would they? If a bad thing happens to me and I can come through it (as I and everyone else has), I feel I have learned something then if was not such a bad thing.

I can not count how many people that have told me about their lives. It is like they are stuck in reverse or something. I know I do it too, I'm guilty. Bringing up the past and dwelling on it, been there and done that. Then again, let's not 'throw the baby out with the bath water' here. To keep those bad times in mind helps you not repeat yourself in having to go through it again. God gave us a memory for a reason, it is so we don't keep making the same mistakes over and over. Let's one thing straight here LOVE is not a mistake and if it is... it is worth making. Trusting someone could be. Trust is not love but it is a part of it.

Saying the words "I Love You", now there is a Pandora's Box for you. Man those are some hard words to say when trust is an issue. How can one say them with honesty when you can't trust the people you are saying it? Maybe that is what led me to this topic this morning, I don't know... I can't tell ya. Then there is the other side of coin here, saying "I Love You" too much to the point where they just become words with no meaning and lastly... (this one's my favorite because I been hearing it alot from someone I know) saying the words "I Love You" coupled up with and insult. Insults and those special words don't belong in the same sentence... they don't even belong on the same page!!! That is love with restrictions and that is not love it is now a control issue.

I hate it when people try to control me or something I am doing. They say to the public that they will help you then they tell they won't or even better yet, tell you lies to hold you back. That is when they hope that you get fusterated and quit, they may not say it but it is at the back of their minds. When you do follow through and make something of it, they come back around around and tell you "I knew you could do it... I was behind you all the way." These kind of people drive me nuts! This is when that little gift that God gave you comes into play... you know, memory. You look back at all the little tale tell signs and you can see like an open book. The bad thing is I know a few of these people and I even work with a couple of them. But you know... You just have to tell yourself that in end this is yours and YOU have a right to be proud. Do for all the right reasons, your reasons.

love to all...

P.S. - All comments on anything having to do with "E'Falco's Nest" is e-mailed directly to me. I will not stand for any slamming.

Writing on...

I just thought I would post a status report on all the projects that are coming and going in my life.

I'm still waiting to here from the publisher about BOTH books. I'm thinking that they should be getting in touch with me for "The Daysong of The Knightbird" sometime this week (that is book two). As for book one "The Violet Eyes of Jesse Knight", well I hope to hear from the editor soon. I e-mailed PublishAmerica about the status of "Violet Eyes" and they said that it recently was assigned to an editor so we will see. I can only hope soon.

A writing friend designed a cover that I could possiblely use. After several trys, this was the one I decided on. Now I'm not sure if I will use it but it is nice to have a stand by just in case.

I have been writing on book three since I have been waiting to hear about books 1 & 2. I have been working on chapter three (and maybe four). I have been writing small shorts stories about the mothers of all of King E'Mor's children. How he met them and so on. I was thinking that if I wanted to carry this on to a romance novel of shorts. Who knows what might come of it?

Stevie Nicks' Nightbird

I have yet to hear this song. It sounds real haunting though. I seriously thought this was a Fleetwood Mac song but it is not. It is from her album "Wild Hearts". You know it would figture, I have the rest but that one.

I have this song playing in the back ground on my 'Chapter' pages at The Knightbird website ( http://www.freewebs.com/knightbird ). This kind of, just kind of, for shadows what is coming in my series. Jeanne helped my work it out and I thank her again.

Nightbird
Lyrics: Written by stevie nicks and sandy stewart.
And the summer became the fall
I was not ready for the winter
It makes no difference at all'cause I wear boots all summer long
My eye make up is dark and it's careless
Some circles around my eyes
Sometimes the real color of my skin
Is my eyes without any shadow
And when I call
Will you walk gently
Thru my shadow
The ones who sing at night
The ones who sing at night
The ones you dream of
The ones who walk away
Capes pulled around them tight
Cryin' for the night
Cry for the nightbird tonite
And so the winter is really here now
And the blankets that I loveI am surrounded sometimes
By too much loveAnd when I call
Will you walk gently
Thru my shadow
The ones who sing at night
The ones who sing at night
The ones you dream of
The ones who walk away
Capes pulled around them tight
Cryin' for the night
Cry for the nightbird tonite
And the darkened eyes
Thru the net of the lace
In the darkness
It's hard to see her face
Pulls back the net
And you feel the touch
Of her fingers
And you see she turns the eyes
And you see the eyes of a nightbird
The ones you dream of
Finally the nightbird
Finally the nightbird
Tonite

Book three and maybe four???

I expressed my concerns on how to write to a very special portion of book three to a online writer's group. I have come to call these people my friends if not very good aquantices. A very talented writer by the name of Jeanne was kind enought to step forward. We talked in privite e-mails to each other and she asked questions that I had thought I had answered in my writings. She challenged me to look deeper at the situation and now that I have, I have come to realize that maybe (just maybe) I may not get everything that I wanted into one book.

The story of a female slave maybe a story into itself, we shall see. If I can come up with at the very least 100 pages of story. I would guess about 35, 000 to 40,000 words. I will SERIOUSLY think of turning it into a book of its own. I would truly say this slaves life could be more interesting then I first thought. Thank you, Jeanne darling....

A busy week!

Hello everyone,

It has been a busy week. I have made up a little plan for this year about "The Knightbird" series. Earlier this week a copy was printed up, paper work was filled out and a $30 money order was drawn. Yes... the second book is on its way to the Library of Congress for its copyright. Before this happened, I submitted it to publisher. The next step is to put together the manuscript to be sent in and I'll do that on my next couple of days off.

By the way, there was just a little change in the title of book two.
It is now and was copyrighted under...
"The Daysong of The Knightbird"

I am hoping to have the third book, "Feathers of a Dancer" done and ready for publisher by the end of this year.

**********

To someone I use to know... I wish you all the luck, love and fame in the world. I can only hope that you are about to release your next project soon. It has been over a year now since I seen anything from you. I do also hope that you are finding more constructive ways of using you writing talent.

The Titles...

I do not believe it is a good idea for people to be jumping to conclusions when they do not know the whole story. I do not want to miss lead anyone. I am just out to tell a good story and this is the story I wish to tell. I dreamed up 'Jesse' when I was a girl and as I grew, so did he. We all have our own fantasy worlds we run to. I see nothing is wrong with that and there is nothing wrong with that. But what one calls a fantasy world is nothing more then a retreat from everyday hassels. In nature, I am not a bad person but I do have my limits and lately I have pushed right to them. So all I can suggest is this... Here is my story, it is my retreat and the fantasy world I have made and yes, I have made it real just for you.

Book One
The Violet Eyes of Jesse Knight
The introduction to the Prince that will lead everyone on a fantastic journey.

Book Two
Daysong for a Knightbird
The Prince now must fight for his place without pushing away those he loves.

Book Three
Feathers of a Dancer

A love that is beginning, a love that will be, a love that is and a love older then time.

Book Four
To Claim The Soul of a Knightbird
Three will come to lay claim to the one person that could stop them but he has allies, very powerful allies.

Book Five
In the Temple Mists
In the temple is the key but not all are accounted for. Where is the last piece?

Book Six
Before the Known Time
It was there all this time waiting to be discovered. It was waiting for the person to find it.

Book Seven
To End With Love
(the end of the beginning)

I had no choice... change in settings.

Due to some insulting comments made about me or worse yet toward me, I have no choice but to limit all comments made on this blog. I did what I could to leave this an open forum but that right was abused by just one person. So it is for members only now, sorry...

If you wish to have that chance to comment you can e-mail at loreann@midrivers.com or laurleeharbig@yahoo.com .

The upside to this.... no spam. But I could have dealt with that. It makes me sad that I have to lock this down. This is not just for my book and the series but my personal thoughts. I refuse to keep them to myself. That is one of the reasons I signed up for this, it is a 'web log' not a website. If someone pissed me off I DO have the right to tell the world if I would like. I also have the right to tell the world of the wonderful things in my life as well. But I don't like when other people try to take credit for them, this is mine and it belongs to me! I have done all the work on it, I have put out the money for it and it belongs to me.

I do not mind giving credit where it is due but not all of it. So now I will just do that. The first story I have read that just floored me with inspiration was called "Son of Star" by Janice M. Lee. I wanted to write like that and wanted to write a story like that. "Son of Star" has not published (yet) but is a great tale about a fantasitic hero (just like Jesse).

Story line idea... Center House.

Center House

The main house is small and round it lays just to the back of main palace. The house itself is round with two sets of double doors front and back streight across from each other. There are just two set of stairs, one by each enterence. These stairs go up to walkway that runs about 10 feet from the floor and this walkway goes about a fourth the way around on both sides. There are two small rooms on each side that can be accessed by these walk ways. The main floor is empty and not divided. The 'so-called' front doors point toward the palace and the 'so-called' backs point out to a land fill.

History of Center House

Center House was ran and owned by a family that since long died out before the war. The last Lord had died just after WaveJammer was born and before Loss. The House was the caretakers place for the several gardens that were surrounding it there for the name 'Center House'. The Lords of Center House cared for the gardens and landscaping of the palace. They also helped with several of the garden on all the levels of the Crown City. When the last Lord of Center House died the gardens fell into the care of the City Grounds keepers. They turned the unique house into a storage and they started to cut back on taking care of the gardens due to money problems at that time. When the war took place the 'floats' turned the area into a land fill.

A bad feeling...

Ever have that bad feeling that someone is following you.

I get that feeling from time to time. I'm not an easy to scare person. I will take matters into my own hands if I have to. But I have this feeling at times that some person (or persons) would love to see me not succeed in what ever I'm doing. It is a weird feeling. I know a couple of them by name... and no I'm not paraiod. I know that not everyone is out to get me. I do still have a few friends in this world.

It's like Tuesday morning. I surfing the net not paying anyone (or thing) any mind, it happens. Someone signed on to MY Yahoo account and kick ME out of MY OWN ACCOUNT. Well I have an idea who it is and when I do get some proof that person will be facing more then just his dad.

Sometime ago someone came to THIS blog and told me that I had to remove all posts about them. Well... it ain't going to happen. Get over it! This is my place and if you don't like what you see here don't come by.

For those of you who did come by because you DO LIKE ME (you really really like me). I Love you all (and I know who some of you are). Don't make me point you out! LOL!!!

Come October

I have decided (sometime ago) that I would do a book for my true inspiration in writing... my parents. I love and miss them greatly. I have decided to call the book 'Come October' being that was when I lost my father. I will keep you posted on the progress of this project.

This is a project I have wanting to do for some time but the pain just was too close. For those who don't know I was there when my father passed away. I took care of him on his final days. I didn't start writing until the best boss I ever had passed away. He encouraged me to do my best and we wanted to please him because he did.

Stryper (welcomed break from my main guy, E'Falco)

For those of you who don't know me I was a huge Stryper fan. I have all the cassettes, CDs and posters. I even have an autographed picture of Robert and Tim (along with some personal pictures those two as well). I even got their solo stuff (all of Michael's for sure).

But I lost interest back in 2000. All the bad things that were being said about Robert, Michael and the whole nine yards. I didn't see Stryper ever coming back from that desaster. But I guess that time does heal all wounds but I have not even thought of coming back as a fan. Just too much has happened.

I dropped away from all of that internet garbage about Stryper (and maybe even God) when dad was told his cancer returned. I could only handle one stressful thing at a time. He had six months to live. I was down and just could not get up from that. Then in May of 2001, Mom passed away having something to do with her heart. I was already fighting to stay on top but I kicked it into over ride and I took care of Dad until he passed away in October of 2001 (just about 6 months after Mom).

Don't ask me about 2002, I could not even tell what happened that year. But I can tell you about one small miracle. I met someone, someone special (no... not like that! get your mind out of the gutter). I think that was when Teri V. was hired as TV Traffic. Who is Teri V.? She is something else, that is all I can tell you. Always a smile and never had a problem with cooling my temper. I am happy to say we are still friends today. Oh... I guess I forgot to tell you... she is the daughter of a minister. So needless to say, slowly ever so slowly God is making his way into my life. Then in January 2003, my boss, "Dapper" Dan passed away and it was time to give back. I tried to be there of Niki, his daughter.

So there you have it.... My tragic past. It would be in mid-2003 that E'Falco flew into my life. I know that is what mom and dad would have wanted for me. To move on. I don't think I will be getting that little birdy out of my life to soon. As for Stryper (yes... back to topic), well they are back together (sort of, Tim, their bass player is retired now). They have a new CD called "Reborn", I can't say I'm a fan of the CD cover but if I can lay my hands on a copy I'll give them a listen for old time sake.

love to all.........

Book Three's Title

I was just about to write something real nasty about '"so called" friends but you know I have to give it a rest.

"Move on," I told myself. "So what if Carmen stiffed you for $100 over artwork. So what if Dedra is acting jealous of the fact that you got published. Go on," I told myself again. "You have so much to do you ain't got time for them."

SO HERE I AM...... (drum roll) with the title for book three!

"Feathers of a Dancer"
(book three of "The Knightbird")

Preview (Book Three)...

I was thinking last night about book three (no, I don't have a title yet - not even a working one). I still had it on my mind this morning so I decided to throw the idea down before I forgot it. So here you go. I still don't have a release date for book one "The Violet Eyes of Jesse Knight" but when I do I will pass it along to you.

Hey... if you have an idea of what my 'working title' should be let me know. This was written this morning some the spelling might be off. Love to all...

**********************************

Daniel and E'Anna passed quitely out of the small garden by the main Med Tech into one of the greater halls. They were holding hands by this time. Daniel, who swore up and down that this was a bad idea. Now he was just enjoying the company of just being in the presents of the gorgous being. As they were about enter the greater hall, Daniel felt something. He stopped and looked at E'Anna, who looked about as pale and horride as he felt. Something had happened to her brother, she had picked up on it as well.

"We have to find him," she almost pleaded with Daniel.

"He's got to be close," Daniel stated as he leaned in to her. "The feelings is to intence for him to be outside of the royal palace."

They both started to look around for some kind of clue of where to go next. When Daniel noticed that there was a faint light glowing in one of the Med Tech's rooms. He shook his head and tried to reach out for E'Falco. Could he be hurt? Is that what he was feeling? Could someone have brought him here? Or... Daniel knew what it was, before he could even answer any of his own questions. It was 'Dancer'. Anger started to come to him. He looked at E'Anna and was fighting back the erge to tell her but he could not. Daniel had seen some really weird stuff having to do with E'Falco as they were growing up back on earth. This was truly weird, even for E'Falco.

"I think... I think he is in love with that 'Dancer's' corpse," Daniel said in a low voice as if someone just might hear him. He did not have to worry about that, they were both alone as they stood just outside of one of the greater halls.

E'Anna's shock did not need to disgiused. She must have known something was up, being his twin, but this was not what she was thinking at all. How could he be in love with... that?
Daniel took a firmer grip of her hand and started to lead to the chambers were 'Dancer' was being kept. He looked at E'Anna one more time to see if this was sinking in, but it was not. They passed quitely into the Med Tech's office. Daniel decided to head for the light as he was leading E'Anna by the hand. This had to come to an end. Anger was now being replaced by fear and concern for his best friend.

They entered the room with the 'Dancer' still laying in the position as she had done for generations. Something had happen here though. Several of the smaller tables were tipped over on to their sides and instriments were everywhere. Daniel started to go farther into the room but E'Anna's grip tightened. He looked at her as if to reassure her that there was no danger and that he could handle himself.

"This is E'Falco not someone we don't know," he said as he let go of her hand.

She was scared now and he could see it.

"Stay here. If this goes bad head for the guards stationed at the other end of the greater hall," he whispered to her.

The erge to kiss her and wrap her up in his arms to protect her was so great. He turned away knowing that his best friend need him now. Daniel left her holding on to the door frame. He walked carefully deeper into the room. He motioned E'Anna to turn on the lights but nothing came on, they were blown. Daniel was now having second thoughts on entering the room. Lights on earth could blow out easy but not here. Just as he was about to step backwards out of the room he heard something. It was crying.

"Jess? Are you alright, bubba?" he asked to the darkness.

The the sound was now acting as if it was taken in air as after a hard cry. Daniel straned his eyes and looked into the darkness searching for E'Falco. He saw a dark figture curled up in the fartherist corner of the lab. Daniel's concern now over took his fear. He swept in to the figture. E'Anna saw him do this and followed suit. Before there was any argument, Daniel and E'Anna were gently pulling and partly carrying E'Falco out of the room. Daniel motioned to set E'Falco down on the floor just outside of the door of the Med Tech's room. The light was not as bright but it was still privite.

E'Falco was pale and shaking hard. His face was soaked with tears and his eyes were red, he had been crying for a long time. E'Anna came to rest on his right side. She wrapped her arms around his right arm as if he might try to run away and she was going to stop him. Daniel kneeled in front of him and took his left hand in his own and started to rub his fingers. E'Falco acted as if he was not even there. E'Anna gentlely laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. A small dim light appeared between them. Daniel knew that E'Anna was now calling out to her brother's soul. He watched this for a long moment hoping that there was a sign from E'Falco that he was in the 'here and now'. E'Falco leaned his head into E'Anna and E'Anna smiled slightly. E'Falco's eyes began to blink rappedly and if something might be in them. Daniel was releived to see that E'Falco's eyes were now coming into focus. Daniel could not help but smile at his true friend.

"We need to talk about this," Daniel stated. "Your going to have to find someone else a little more out going then her to hang out with. She's just not your type, Jess. Think of the age different."

E'Anna giggled at Daniel's remark. E'Falco just nodded as he was still trying to grab reality but he did smile slightly. He knew his best friend was right. E'Falco started to shake his head as if trying to shake the cobwebs out. Then tears came to his eyes and the visions of those terrible events started to form in his mind. They were so real as if he was there himself.
E'Falco looked at Daniel with fear in his eyes. Daniel started to mesage E'Falco's fingers again as if to tell him that it is going to be alright.

"You are here," Daniel stated with concern in his eyes. "Nobody is going to hurt you and you need to get a grip right now. What the vision was that you had seen, is not here."

"It is," E'Falco said horsely. "It has now come here and it could happen again."

"No, it won't," Daniel replied as he moved to sit on E'Falco's right side. "Because we won't let it."

"What is it that you seen, my equal? Tell us," E'Anna asked in a soft voice.

She laid her head on his shoulder again hoping that she could lighten his burden. He rubbed the top of her head with his. He closed his eyes as if just trying to feel the moment.

"I will tell you but I need to rest now," E'Falco said with his eyes still closed.

"Do you want me to get the healer?" Daniel asked with a nug.

"No... I want my dad. He could soften the visions or even blanket them enough so I could sleep."

Daniel got up with out a word and touched the top of E'Falco's head. E'Falco looked at him still groggy but managed to give him a smile. Daniel just simply smiled back as he started toward the greater hall. E'Anna chose to stay with her twin until their father arrived sometime latter.

Excorted by two guards, King E'Mor, in one fluid motion, picked up E'Falco and carried him to his bedding chambers. Daniel stood at the end the bed and E'Anna took up a chair close to him. E'Falco laid motionless on the bed and allowed his father to enter his now heavy mind. Soft pastel lights appeared over E'Falco's head and started to blanket their soft colors over his face. King E'Mor got up from the bed and motion to Daniel and E'Anna to follow. The three got to door and the King turn to Daniel and E'Anna.

"I want these visions documented," he said in a low voice so only Daniel and E'Anna could hear him. "I can not take these visions away from E'Falco D'Voren but I can perminently soften them." Then he turned to leave but turned back again. "E'Anna, I want as much detail as possible. Daniel, guide him in his telling of these vision, because they will come out in one big jubbled mess. I will leave you two to this task."

King E'Mor reached out and touched his daughter face with his finger tips and then grabbed Daniel shoulder. He turned and headed out the door, leaving Daniel and E'Anna to what was asked. Daniel placed his hands on both sides of E'Anna's face and brought their forheads together. That erge to kiss her was still there but he knew maybe he should not.

"Buckle down, sweety. This could be a bumpy ride for both of us," he said softly.
She just smiled trying to figture out if he ment them or E'Falco.

Poetry

You know I have never really looked at myself as a poet. But now, I guess I have no choice but to try to be one.

When I do things for others when asked it is really because I want the same done in return. Someone, some time ago, asked me to do a piece of art for her book, so I did. I was hoping that maybe I would get that kindness repayed back to me. Instead, I got insulted and told that I didn't live in the real world. This person even went as far as saying that I needed help. All I asked for is a poem, just a simple poem. It is sad really, that which I had done, the amount of effort, money, and time was repayed to me like this. If this is the real world, I think I will stay right where I am thank you.

The Second Daysong

Come to the heart of the Second Daysong
For this is for those who fight for our freedom
Come and let it be known they are not the forgotten one
From them we will gain our loved kingdom

They are our strength and our hope
Let us pray for them to return safe
They know what our beating hearts hope
Let them come back to their true place

For our souls will join in their coming home
We will all be joined in the eyes of the Graces
For the souls of our loved one need not roam
We wish them only peace in personal spaces

Come to us our beloved strong sons
It is you whom we love is spite of youselves
Come for our love our beautiful ones
It is for you that we will listen to your tales

There is more, I think, but this what I did one night. Love to all.....
*I will not name the person I was speaking about because of her career as a writer.

Hi... It's me.

Just thought I would post again. The excitment of my time in the paper is starting to die down now. But now I trying to focus on my second book "Daysong for a Knightbird". I got chapters one and two done now I have to finish typing them into my laptop. Then I can start editing the rest of the book so it all runs together and make sure I set up for the next book in the process.

This is an exciting time but it is like a slow burn. Unless you pay attention you can easily forget that it is there. I'm real excited for another friend of mine, Matthew. He is so ready to take that jump too. To see his book in print too will be exciting.

love to all.........

The doubt...

"Daysong for a Knightbird" is now the working title for book two in the 'Knightbird Series'. "The Violet Eyes of Jesse Knight" is book one. Accually, both these books were written at the same time as one story. I made the choice to divide the book in half and market them as two. Both books will be of the same series but could be read seperately.

I doubt myself some much. I wish I would not do that. My story telling abilities are not the best. There are some many times I wish some else would write these wild dreams I have. I have thought about where these stories are going and there is SO much to write. To give you an idea where all this is leading....

Jesse is going to be put to the test of loyalty to himself and his father, the currect King. He will encounter the very same race that exciled his forefathers to the stars. From there he will have the question most children ask, "Where did we come from?". This will lead him back to his second home and to a mythical place called Lumeria.

I am sure this will take several book to tell this story and who knows.... taking on Religion and Evolvution just might be fun. I am sure it will be a beautiful miserable experiance.
